Who am I & why should you listen to me?

Hi! I'm Charles and I founded The Untethered Jazz Guitarist to share an easier way to learn the music that I love.

I'm a music graduate, teacher and performer who was pulling my hair out trying to develop my jazz chops

despite having every possible opportunity going in my favour.

During this time I finally developed a toolbox of strategies which allow us to make progress in spite of our busy lifestyles.

I specialise in helping people apply their existing knowledge to advanced contexts.

This course is all about mindset and "knowing better", not "knowing more". In fact, you probably already know most of the theory we'll cover!

My students have used these same tools to help create equally impressive results without excessive overwhelm, stress & sacrifice.

My mission is to help more people avoid the "theory first" approach of many jazz teachers and succeed faster by simplifying.
